Dry hair: when to moisturize it?

If your hair is dry, you need to nourish or moisturize it. But how to tell the difference? Let's start with hydration!

Symptoms

    • Your hair swells as soon as the air is humid;

    • they are dull and rough.

Alert: your hair is dying of thirst! It's time to give them something to drink!

How to moisturize your dry hair?

You get it: hydration = water. We therefore favor aqueous masks . To do this, go to the kitchen: you already have everything! Yogurt, compote, honey, agave syrup, banana, oat cream… No hassle, no complicated shopping, we make a “back of the cupboard” mask (you know we love that)!

For example :

    • 1 yogurt;

    • 2 tablespoons of honey or agave syrup;

    • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.

    • Mix everything.

    • Apply to your clean hair, from roots to ends.

    • Leave on for two hours (surrounding your hair with a towel to retain heat and reinforce the effects of the mask).

    • Rinse (no shampoo: it reopens the scales and cancels the benefits of the mask)

    • Enjoy!

If your hair is very porous , rinse with cold water and use a rinse with cider vinegar: this will close the scales and help maintain hydration. On the contrary, if your porosity is low, wet your hair with hot water to open the cuticles (dry your hair a little with a towel before applying your mask).

Madam President's advice: For greater effectiveness, seal in hydration: once your hair is dry, apply a few drops of vegetable oil, paying particular attention to the lengths and ends! Hydrated, shiny, nourished hair: the winning combo!

Damaged hair: when to nourish it?

Faced with dry hair, you can hesitate between nourishing and hydrating. It's easy to decide: if your hair lacks nutrition, it is not really dry, but rather damaged. Don't panic: but it's very simple!

Symptoms

    • Your hair is fragile;

    • they break easily;

    • their tips are forked.

Alert: your hair is begging you to nourish it, it’s time to deeply repair it!

How to nourish deeply?

To repair damaged hair, there is a very simple solution: an oil bath ! Apply it to your hair, leave for 30 minutes to 12 hours (for a shine effect++) and shampoo! Once a week to twice a month depending on needs: your hair is strengthened and in great shape! For even deeper care, you can opt for shea whipped cream or a nourishing mask!

For example :

    • banana ;

    • 150 milliliters of vegetable oil of your choice;

    • 1 egg yolk.

    • Beat the oil and egg to make mayonnaise.

    • Mash the banana and add it to the mayonnaise.

    • Apply from roots to ends.

    • Leave on for 20 minutes to overnight.

    • Rinse and shampoo!

Madam President's advice: Ban heating devices (hair dryers, straighteners, curling irons) and other perms, enemies of hydration, from your routines!
